Mexican news spans long-established Mexico City dailies, a combative digital sector and a state press that carries the local record across a very large country. The list below covers all three.

El Universal, Reforma, Milenio, Excélsior and La Jornada are the principal national dailies, the last writing firmly from the left. El Financiero and El Economista cover business and markets, with Expansión on the corporate side, and El Sol de México anchors a nationwide chain of regional editions.

The digital and investigative sector is where much of the reporting on corruption and security appears: Aristegui Noticias, SinEmbargo, La Silla Rota, SDPnoticias and the weekly Proceso.

State papers remain essential outside the capital — El Norte in Monterrey, El Informador in Guadalajara, El Diario de Yucatán, El Siglo de Torreón, El Debate in Sinaloa, El Imparcial in the northwest and Por Esto! in the southeast.

Football and sport run through Récord, Medio Tiempo, ESPN México and Marca México, and technology through Xataka, Unocero and FayerWayer. Everything publishes in Spanish.
