Hong Kong reads in two languages, and the list below carries both the Chinese-language dailies that dominate local circulation and the English-language titles that serve the international audience.
In English, the South China Morning Post is the paper of record, with The Standard as the free business daily and Hong Kong Free Press as a non-profit independent outlet.
The Chinese-language market is considerably larger. 東方日報 (Oriental Daily) and 星島頭條 (Sing Tao) are long-established mass-circulation papers, 明報 (Ming Pao) is known for its news reporting, and 信報財經新聞 (Hong Kong Economic Journal) and 香港經濟日報 (Hong Kong Economic Times) cover business and markets. 大公报 and 文汇报 are Beijing-aligned titles.
Broadcast newsrooms publish continuously: 無綫新聞 (TVB), 香港電台 (RTHK), Now 新聞 and 有線新聞. 香港01 is among the largest digital-native outlets, and 端傳媒 (Initium), 獨立媒體 and 法庭線 (The Witness) cover the independent and court-reporting end.
Technology is unusually well represented for a city this size, through ePrice.HK, e-zone, Qooah and TechRitual. Most titles are free to read; the SCMP and the business dailies run metered access.
